Duties as a Landlord
Landlords have a duty under the Gas Safety (Installation & use) Regulations 1998 to ensure that maintenance of all pipework, appliances and flues are carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Landlords must also arrange for an annual gas safety check by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A record of the check must be kept for 2 years and a copy must also be issued to the tenant within 28 days of the check being completed.
